Together, they debut their latest pilot program, GlamXplorer, powered by Hang’s innovative technology, which fuels fun, fresh and engaging gamified experiences to a select group of Ulta Beauty Rewards members.
As a first-of-its-kind collaboration within the beauty industry, GlamXplorer taps into beauty enthusiasts’ evolving interests of engaging with the category in new, experimental, and captivating ways by gamifying the loyalty experience and offering new ways to redeem rewards through minigames, timed challenges, and quests, that include virtual try-ons with GLAMlab®. Rewards include gift cards, discounts, beauty products, and more.
Throughout the past 6+ months, the pilot launched over 30 quests, 42 minigames and is currently seeing major success in retention, to the tune of 60-80% engagement rates week over week.
With a community driven approach, the pilot has also created new avenues for beauty enthusiasts to connect and work together to discuss their outcomes, while sharing in their excitement for the quests and challenges online, ultimately improving engagement. Customers are taking to online forums to discuss the games, share what prizes they received, and ultimately foster connections and added excitement for the pilot, asking questions like “Did anyone get the GlamXplorer 21 questions answer today?” eliciting tons of responses and engagement.
